Thanks OP, I am in need for a printer but I hear Costco is worst than a zoo (zoo is normal). I will check online.

Do yourself a solid and buy a printer that uses toner. Will cost less long-term in ink.

Yup. I'm in the market for a good laser printer. Until then I'll keep using my sh*tty HP one that hasn't needed toner in years and prints once in a blue moon.

Nope, HP Instant Ink is even cheaper, for low usage

Even HP Instant Ink's business printing plan is almost 3x the price of printing compared to toner. And you have to pay monthy.

Looks about the deal I've been searching. Still on the fence about instant ink vs toner. I think people are right that HP will eventually get rid of the free level in a year or so. 15 pages a month is about right for my usage though.

What do you mean 3x the price?????
22.99 for 700 pages that includes all CMYK. Colour toner costs $500-600 a set, maybe ~200-300 third party for 1500-2000 page yields. Lets say $200. That's 8.7 months of instant ink, so over 6000 prints in that time frame... and thats 6000 FULL pages, not ISO prints.

Similar, 6978 is the previous generation, a few extra features like duplex scan and copy (both do duplex print). 8022 is sliiiightly cheaper in inks for exact same yields, irrelevant if you use instant ink. 8022 has dual band wifi too.

For low usage (<15 pages month) is free - I haven't paid for ink since 2016 I think.

Instant Ink is great for people who can print at work, but forget to do that from time to time.. 15 page usage is great for me.

That's what I thought too.
But I'm on the Instant Ink program and they let me print around 15 pages for free each month, but I had to call HP to put me on this low usage plan.

Sign up for newsletter for $10 off. It took like 6 hours to get, so I googled for HP newsletter coupon and I think it was SIGNUP10. Also, there was 13% cashback at ebates the other day, not sure if still on.
You could try price matching Staples to $99.99 and then use $20 off, but that was too much hassle for me to try. But Staples shipping is next day, HP was week plus due to ground shipping. HP website has two part numbers for that printer. Had to use Google to find the url that matches Staples if you try to PM.

Tried PM over the phone, was told that staples doesn't match the manufacturer, only resellers.
I did an electronic PM as well, waiting for that result.

For a good cheap laser I can recommend the Pantum P2500W. Normally goes for around 70$ on eBay. Has wifi and works well in my experience.

I know Inkjets have come a long way, but I still prefer laser for the text quality.
