Getting Started
Wiki Goals
Wiki GoalsAccurate & Easily Accessible Information
Currently, a large chunk of information is gathered through various methods, such as testing or word-of-mouth. This method is not very accurate and often causes misinformation being spread.
Having an official Hypixel SkyBlock Wiki will mean that all the information will be hosted directly by the Hypixel team, making it easy to find what you are looking for.
Our goal is to provide the most accurate information in the best way possible. We will continually make improvements where needed and hope to provide the highest level of information transparency.
Quicker Release Of Public Information
The plan with any SkyBlock update is to have basic pages ready on the day of release.
While you can look forward to these pages, please note that content such as secret quests or late-level unlocks won't be shown immediately as we don't want to take the sense of exploration and discovery away from the community.
Expectations
Conduct
While being on the Wiki Team the Hypixel Network Rules still apply. Internal information provided to you should not be used to gain any benefits such as SkyBlock Coins or “Fame”. If we find out, you will be removed from the project immediately, banned from the network and depending on the severity your SkyBlock profile will be wiped.
Activity
While being on the team we expect you will be interested in the project, which includes a sufficient amount of activity. If you are busy for extended periods of time (2 Weeks+) we expect you to let us know. If you fail to let us know you will be busy for extended periods of time, then it appears to us you are not interested in the project and you may be removed.
For security and maintenance reasons, your Wiki account and UserPage may be deleted once you are removed the project.
Plagiarism
You should not copy anyone else’s work outside of the Hypixel organization. If you need any information you can always request it. If at any point we believe you are copying someone else’s work, you will be removed from the project.
Meetings
You are not required to attend meetings but occasionally we will have meetings to discuss certain topics. You can find all of our previous meeting notes on our drive.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a Special Item for Wiki Contributors?
Much like the Game Breaker and Game Annihilator, the Wiki Journal and Editor's Pencil is given to editors who have contributed significantly to the Hypixel SkyBlock Wiki.
What to Learn to get Started
First, you should understand how Templates,Parameters, and Redirects work.
| Content | Description |
| Templates | Are predesigned content used to consistently and quickly create page content. |
| Parameters | Are used to modify those templates which will produce different results. Numbered Parameters are parameters that are defined by the order in which they are used. |
| Redirects | Are used to automatically take a user to another page. |
Templates are used for many reasons, including:
- Reduce UI clutter
- Reduce repeat markup (instead of writing something twice, you can use the template on both pages)
- Consistency between pages
We use Page Templates which are templates specifically designed for certain SkyBlock content.
You can generate an empty page using any of the templates below by doing:
{{subst:Template:NAMEHERE/empty}}
- Item Page
- Item pages are for any item that does not fit under other item pages (Tools, Collection, etc.).
- Armor Page
- Armor pages are for armor sets. Stand alone armor pieces should use the Item Page.
- NPC Page
- NPC pages are for NPCs.
- Zone Page
- Zone pages are for any locations.
- Pets Page
- Pet pages are for any pets.
- Mob Page
- Mob pages are for any mobs.
- Stat Page
- Stat pages are for any stats in SkyBlock - including Mob stats.
- Minion Page
- Minion pages are for any minions.
- UserPage
- User pages are for any Editors.
- Mega Page
- Mega pages are for any content that does not fit into the other page types. These pages are usually large (hence the name), but they can be small.
